GRANITE

Granite is formed by the solidification of magma at high temperatures and under high pressure. The granules are medium in size, sometimes very large crystals occur. From a physical point of view, granite is very strong and has a high hardness (6-7 on the Mohs scale) and mechanical resistance. Granite is resistant to abrasion, weathering and dirt. Granite is widely used in the modern construction industry, especially for floors, paving and monuments. Polished, antiqued or honed, this durable and attractive material is often used for kitchen countertops.

GRANITE PROPERTIES

Granite countertop

AKMI natural granite is much more than the traditional uniform, medium-grained white and gray versions. A wide spectrum of natural stone types opens up before your eyes, encompassing moderate and unexpected color combinations and special patterns.

Impressive, with a magnetic aesthetic power, for example, granites with large veins. Intense reds, similar to volcanic lava; black stones integrated as works of sculpture; a multitude of greens, spectacular shades reminiscent of vegetation, pink stones with crystalline effects; a spectrum of semi-transparent or more opaque yellows, which are a real explosion of energy and warmth; blue stones of impressive intensity and sublimely elegant browns.

The breadth and diversity of this range offers limitless possibilities for application and integration into the most demanding exterior and interior decors. In addition, there are numerous finishing options: polished, honed, shot blasted, aged, satin and burned.

ADVANTAGES OF GRANITE

Fire and heat resistant

Granites are resistant to high surface temperatures. Due to this property, the stone is often used for fireplace surrounds and kitchen countertops.

Stain resistant

Due to its low porosity, this material is stain resistant. Natural stone products are impregnated during production.

Easy maintenance

Properly selected stone requires very little maintenance. Do not use chemicals, acidic cleaners, or abrasive scrubbing tools. Warm water, mild dishwashing detergent, and a soft microfiber cloth are all that is needed.

Does not change color

Granite is resistant to ultraviolet rays, so it retains its color like the first day.

Unique

Since granite is a natural material, no two slabs are exactly the same.
